Most points in a game in IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy history was 111 in Namibia's 104-7 victory over the Cayman Islands in 2009 and the least points was 17 in Chile's 14-3 win over Romania in 2008.
Most points scored by a losing team was 22 by Papua New Guinea against Zimbabwe in the play off for 7th place. The record for most points scored by a losing team is 43, also by Papua New Guinea, in 2009.

Points distribution
Excluding three points scored in extra time in one of the play off matches, 339 points (48.4%) were scored in the first half of matches and 361 (51.6%) in the second half. This compares with 54.6% points scored in the first half in 2008 and 43.5% in 2009.
The first half of the match between Russia and Canada was the only pointless half since the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy began in 2008 and Papua New Guinea were only the third team after Jamaica and the Cayman Islands to fail to score in a match when they lost 74-0 to Italy in their opening fixture.

Winning margins
The average winning margin overall was 17.6 points, compared to 29.4 in 2008 and 28.9 in 2009.
The average winning margin in the pool matches was 18.6 points, compared to 32.4 in 2008 and 32.8 in 2009.
The biggest winning margin was 74 by Italy over Papua New Guinea and the smallest winning margin was 2 by Russia and Uruguay, both over Canada (although two matches were drawn at full time).
The biggest winning margin in the history of the tournament was 97 by Namibia against the Cayman Islands in 2009.
The draw between Japan and Zimbabwe in the second round of pool matches was the first in the history of the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy.

Tries
There were 83 tries scored in the tournament, compared to 126 in 2008 and 152 in 2009.
Only 59.0% of total points were scored through tries compared to 71.8% in 2008 and 72.4% in 2009.
37 tries were scored in the first half of matches - 44.6% of the total tries scored. This compares with 47.1% during the 2008 and 2009 tournaments.
There were 58 try scorers in the tournament and nine of the 83 tries were scored by replacements.
The most tries scored in a match was 12 - all by Italy against Papua New Guinea and the record since the tournament began is 18 in the match between Namibia and the Cayman Islands in 2009, with 17 of them scored by Namibia, also a tournament record.

Penalties
There were 54 penalties scored in the tournament compared to 33 in 2008 and 25 in 2009.
23.0% of total points were scored through penalties in 2010 compared to 11.3% in 2008 and just 7.1% in 2009.
31 of the 54 successful penalty kicks (57.4%) were converted during the first half of matches. This compares with 62.1% converted during the 2008 and 2009 tournaments in the first half of matches.
The most penalties kicked in a match was five (all by Connor Braid) in Canada's 22-6 win over Zimbabwe, which is also the all-time tournament record.

Conversions
64.5% of tries were converted in 2010 compared to 55.4% in 2008 and 64.6% in 2009.

First score
The first points were scored through a penalty kick in nine of the 16 matches played in the tournament. This compares with just nine out of 32 matches in the 2008 and 2009 tournaments, with the first scoring play in 22 of the other 23 matches coming from a try. Only five matches in 2010 had a try as the first scoring play.
The earliest try in the tournament was scored after two minutes - in three matches.

Discipline
There was one red and 31 yellow cards issued in the 2010 tournament compared to two reds and 18 yellows in 2008 and one red and 12 yellows in 2009.
Romania's ANDREI FLORESCU was sent off for punching in the second round of matches against Italy. Two other Romanian players were cited for similar offences and a Russian player was cited for a dangerous tackle.
Russia had the most yellow cards with eight, a tournament record, followed by Papua New Guinea with seven. Japan received the least yellow cards, with just one.

Players
The leading scorer in the tournament was Italy's ALBERTO CHILLON with 51 points, followed by CONNOR BRAID of Canada with 35 points and JOSE ASUAGA of Uruguay with 34 points.
The leading all time points scorer is Romania's STEFAN PATRASCU with 82 points, which includes 21 in this tournament.
The leading points scorer in a match in this tournament was also ALBERTO CHILLON, with 19 against Papua New Guinea. The individual all time match record of 25 is held by Korea's SUNG KUN CHA, against the Cayman Islands in 2009.
Japan's TAKAAKI NAKAZURU was the tournament's leading try scorer with four, including a hat trick against Canada. Italy's CARLO FAZZARI also scored a hat trick, in the match against Papua New Guinea.
The record for the most penalties kicked by a single player in a match was set by CONNOR BRAID of Canada, who kicked five against Zimbabwe in the opening round of matches in this year's tournament.
